 General Preferences:

The Preferences window allows you to customize how PokerFunClub looks, feels, plays and sounds on your computer. With numerous options you can have the game configured to just how you like.

Preference Descriptions:

General:

  • Show bubble hints -- displays text hints that helps to explain and illuminate each area of the game, including descriptions of game play as you watch or play.

  • Ping time always visible -- displays your 'ping' time in the lower right corner of your screen. Ping is the time, in 1/1000ths of a second, that it takes a PokerFunClub message to travel from your machine to the server and back; e.g., a ping of 500 means it takes about 1/2 second for your Bet instruction to reach the server and come back to you. Note: when this feature is turned on, pass your mouse over other players to see their ping time (check out who's got a slow connection, or is just slow to act).

  • Force show processor compensation -- reduces the level of animation and effects to compensate for older processors. PokerFunClub should run fine on a Pentium II or better, but if you run several other applications at the same time, PokerFunClub may struggle. Selecting this preference will help (it will also cause animations to play less smoothly). Note: this setting is automatically chosen (grayed out) if your machine has a CPU of 200 mhz or less.

  • Log path -- Use this option to decide where you wish to have your saved logs located.

Game:

  • Show floating chat text -- chat text appears next to each player as they chat, as well as in the Log window (the same one that displays game play). Click the Chat tab to see chat logs in each room. You may choose a certain length of time before the chat will automatically fade out.

  • Fade Host Messages After -- This options allows you to choose the amount of time to which a message from a host will remain on your screen. You may have the message automatically fade out after 5 / 10 / 15 / 30 seconds or 1 minute after appearing.

  • Show Floating Dealer Text -- With this option checked the dealer of the table will show by them a play by play of what is occurring at the table such as when someone calls or bets.

  • Player name and chip values always visible -- shows each player's name and chip value. Passing your mouse over players displays the same information. Note that players' chips are always in view and accurately represented, just as in a real poker game.

  • Animate view cards action -- plays the 0.3 second animation used to display your cards. Turn this feature off to see your cards instantly. Note: each time you view your cards, other players see you act; turning off the setting does not turn it off in other players' view.

  • Always use green felt tables -- displays the same green felt table in every poker room. There are 4 different room schemes (chosen at random), each with its own table design. Some players prefer to always see the same table center.

  • Don't warn when i muck a potential winner -- As stated if this is checked off you will not be warned at the end of a hand, if you have won and choose to muck your cards thereby forfeiting your hand and allowing someone else to win the pot.

Audio:

  • Hear Voice Sounds -- The audio of the dealer will be heard, such as "Welcome to the table" when first sitting at a table.

  • Hear sounds effects -- This will allow you to hear the sounds such as cards being dealt.

  • Hear audible game prompts -- These are the sounds of the dealer, once such as warnings to you when your time is running out to play your hand.

  • Hear chat sounds -- Each character has unique sounds when words like "lol, yay, arg " are typed into the chat box, check this off to hear this.

  • Hear player arrival alert-- When checked, PokerFunClub will play a sound upon a new person logging into the server.

Advance Actions:

  • Always show -- This will always show the advance actions in front of you.

  • Show when mouse is over -- This will only show the advance action button when your mouse cursor is moved over the hot spot - this being in front of you, when you mouse is in the right area, the advance buttons will appear.

  • Never show -- This setting means that the advance action buttons will never be shown.
